My first artistic love is the book arts. I've always found the process of stitching books together meditative by nature. However, with the arrival of two very active and curious boys in my life, the need to engage in a more "stash-able" craft became important.
I found working with felt was satisfying in the same way as working with paper. I love the sound sharp scissors make as they make a clean cut through quality felt. I love re-purposing old materials into something new and creative. Using my thread and needle is instantly calming for me and seeing the final product joyfully played with and worn by wee folk makes me happy.
